Q: Is the water there safe to drink?
A: Yes, because our facility's water comes from an underground well. However, we will be providing your group with purified bottled water for drinking for the duration of your stay.
Q: Is the food safe for me to eat?
A: Yes. In order to make your trip as enjoyable as possible all of your food will be brought in from the U.S.
Q: What kind of ministry will we be doing?
A: You will be ministering in a local missions church on Sunday evening, then Monday-Wednesday going door-to-door evangelizing and in the evening conducting your own evangelistic crusade. Refer to the missions trip schedule to get a detailed itinerary for your group.
Q: How can we be most effective when we minister in Mexico?
A: First of all, when ministering, you want to be a blessing and leave the people in better condition than when you first came. At a church you want to minister a message that will encourage the Pastor and his members in their work. Secondly in your crusades, your messages should be directed towards the "lost" who may have never heard the "Good News" before.
Q: What kind of clothes should I wear to minister in?
A: If you are preaching the main message, guys should dress in slacks and nice shirt. Girls should wear a dress or a skirt and blouse that is not revealing and whose length reaches the knees.
Q: Is it ok to lay hands on people when we minister and pray for them?
A: Absolutely, we encourage you to step out and believe God for signs, wonders and miracles. Realize you may be the only one who that person has the opportunity to see God's love through.
Q: Is it ok to bring down items or gifts to give away?
A: Yes it is. However don't bring down something like a pair of sneakers that has holes in them as they will be of no use to anyone. Make sure that what you have to give away is in good condition and will be a blessing to the people who receive it. ***If you plan on bringing items to Mexico to give away you need to prepare a itemized list of the gifts you are giving away and put it on church letterhead stating what ministry is giving the items away and who will be the recipient donor to hand out the items in the visiting country.***
Q: Is there any opportunities to do any construction while in Mexico?
A: We realize there are many who like to give of their time on the mission field by doing construction work. However we have seen that it's a greater blessing to have someone from Mexico experienced in working with concrete do the construction. Our focus is to reach the lost, therefore we do not provide construction opportunities.
Q: What if I get sick while on my trip?
A: If you are not feeling well while in Mexico we have a couple of doctors who are on staff with us that can determine whether your sickness is treatable or serious enough that you require greater medical attention.
Q: How is the culture different in Mexico than in the U.S.?
A: In many ways. People in Mexico are very polite and always greet one another even if they don't know the person they are greeting. As long as you go out of your way to be nice, you will be received well by others.
Q: Will I have a translator when ministering or going door-to-door?
A: Yes, you will have translators to help you out on the duration of your trip.
Q: Is it safe where we will be staying?
A: Yes. The property where you will be staying is surrounded by a 12 foot wall and is guarded by security guards at night. No incident has ever taken place here on our property that has put visiting mission groups in danger over the past 30 years.
Q: Where is World Missions Outreach located?
A: About 4 hours South of Brownsville, Texas in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Ciudad Victoria is the capital of the state of Tamaulipas which shares part of the Texas border. Appoximately 376,412 people live in Ciudad Victoria and the surrounding area.
Q: How will our group get down to Ciudad Victoria?
A: By a very comfortable privately chartered bus.
Q: How will our group get around once down in Ciudad Victoria?
A: Our ministry has a fleet of buses. So your group will have it's own bus and driver which will transport you to and from the areas your group will be minstering at.
Q: Why do you only allow groups of 15 people or more to come?
A: Because when a group is smaller is still requires the same dorms, air conditioners, water heaters, paid staff that help cook, clean for it as does a larger group. Because of this we always end up with a deficit. So since this is the case we require a minimum of 15 people per church group unless there is another group coming at the same time.
Q: Will we have a free day?
A: Yes. On Thursday you will have a free day. This day includes a trip to the downtown market in the morning with the rest of the day open for you to get packed and prepared for your return home. Some groups like to have a ministry activity during the afternoon, so with advanced notice we can schedule your group to visit a local orphanage or go to minister to people at the local trash dump.
Q: What if our group is not big enough to fill the charted bus?
A: Then we will work at trying to get another church group to fill the rest of the available seats to keep your cost down.
Q: How much does the chartered bus cost?
A: $1400 USD.
Q: What does the $350 cover for trip to Mexico?
A: It covers costs for food, electricity, gas and for paying our cooks, cleaners and translators.
Q: What extra cost is my group responsible for?
A: For transporting your group to/from Brownsville and the rental of a privately chartered bus which will transport your group to/from Ciudad Victoria, Mexico.
Q: If our group decides to fly, what airport are we supposed to fly in to?
A: You can either fly into Harlingen (Valley International Airport) or Brownsville (South Padre International Airport).
Q: Which airport is cheaper to fly in and out of?
A: Usually Harlingen, which is only 30 minutes drive from Brownsville.
Q: What carriers fly in/out of the Harlingen and Brownsville airports?
A: Harlingen- Southwest Airlines & Continental / Brownsville- Continental Airlines & American Airlines.
Q: Who will pick up and drop off our group from the airport?
A: Your privately chartered bus will both pick up and drop off your group at the airport.

A: You are required to have a valid U.S. Passport in order to obtain your Mexican tourist visa and to return back to the United States.
Q: How much will the visa cost?
A: Because your group will be in Mexico for less than 7 days, it's free.
Q: Are minors allowed to come?
A: Yes, with their parents. Those 15 and older with parental permission.
Q: What items should each person in our group bring?
A: Towel, sheets, water bottle, hat, sunglasses, Bible and any other personal items you deem necessary for your group to have while on their trip.
Q: What items are we not allowed to bring into Mexico?
A: Knives, produce, animals, firearms, drugs.
